Our Protagonist is assisted by Neil (Robert Pattinson), a fantastically tailored Englishman with a flair for intelligence. Time is inverted for some, while for others, time flows chronologically. The future and the state of the world is at stake, everything must be played out as precisely as planned. What Nolan has done is innovation beyond all else, perhaps his 2001: A Space Odyssey moment? It will be talked about for years to come. Utilizing information given to the spectator while simultaneously parallel editing to action-orientated scenes, what is created is a sense of awe and ongoing, nail-biting thrills. Successfully crafting a non-stop film of pure suspense, editor Jennifer Lame and Nolan take on Alfred Hitchcock’s “bomb theory” and take it up into the stratosphere. It left me shivering in exhilaration and as I write this, I still am. No filmmaker past or present has ever operated on such an innovative level. How was this made? How could one think of such a concept and pull it off in such masterful fashion? The answer is, Christopher Nolan is Christopher Nolan and he’s outdone himself.
